On Demand Writing

I know I went to school a long time ago, but I never had to write a complete essay in class, let alone in 20 minutes. I don't know how kids do it today. We expect them to do so much in a short period of time. That was one thing that caught my attention in the readings. Another thing is about teacher writing--how can we expect students to do something we ourselves don't do. I know that I should write more with my kiddos, and I will from here on out.
